Split-ownership billing, DEA compliance, and complete medical records — for the way ambulatory and clinic equine practices actually work. Not adapted from small-animal software. Built for horses, from the truck.
$129/month per veterinarian. Every feature included. Unlimited techs, assistants, and office staff. No setup fee, no contract.
Most veterinary software is built by software companies who interview a few vets and guess at the workflows. EDSI VMS started as the internal system for a busy New Jersey ambulatory practice managing 900+ horses. Every feature exists because a real practice hit a real problem.
Built exclusively for horses. No small-animal bloat, no species confusion. Every workflow assumes horses and owners, not cats and clients.
A $1,000 charge on a horse owned 50/30/20 generates three separate invoices — $500, $300, $200 — automatically. No workarounds, no Excel, no manual math.
Full Schedule II–V tracking with witness-required waste log and printable audit reports — on every plan. Most systems at our price don't have this at all.
$129 per veterinarian, all features, unlimited staff. No QuickBooks tax, no per-seat nickel-and-diming, no surprise add-ons to unlock what you already need.
"We needed software that understood how a real equine practice actually works — split ownership, DEA logs, Coggins tracking, billing by percentage. EDSI VMS was built inside our practice. Every feature came from a real problem we hit on the truck."
Nine modules covering billing, medical records, scheduling, inventory, compliance, and reporting — built specifically for ambulatory and clinic-based equine practices. All of it is included on every plan.
True percentage-based billing for horses with multiple owners. Automatically generates separate, penny-accurate invoices per owner. No other system at this price does this properly.
Schedule II–V drug inventory, transaction log, witness-required waste entries, and printable DEA audit reports. Built for compliance, not bolted on — and included on every plan.
SOAP exams with vitals, vaccination history, Coggins with expiry, deworming with FEC counts, dental procedures, and health certificates — all in one place.
Invoice Register, A/R Aging, Owner Statements, Outstanding Balances, Charge Code Usage, Revenue by Month, Payment History, Horse Transactions, and Appointment Activity — all to PDF.
Monthly calendar, day list, full editing, and recurring appointments (weekly, biweekly, monthly) across 8 appointment types and 5 statuses. Built for ambulatory workflows.
Unbilled-charge queue, invoice generation, bulk payment distribution (oldest-first), service charges, email/SMS delivery, Stripe processing, and reverse-invoice capability.
Complete horse profiles with barn/location tracking, ownership-history log, change-of-ownership audit trail, active/inactive status, and search by name, owner, or location.
Receive, dispense, adjust, and return transactions with lot numbers, expiry tracking, and low-stock alerts. Kept separate from controlled substances for clean record-keeping.
True SaaS architecture — each practice's data is fully isolated at the database level. Your records cannot be seen by any other practice. Enterprise-grade security at a small-practice price.

* ThoroVet advertises $90–$150/month but requires a separate QuickBooks Online subscription ($40–$80/month) for full billing. Real all-in cost is roughly $130–$230. Competitor pricing reflects publicly reported figures as of 2026 and varies by practice size, modules, and quote.
You pay per veterinarian. Every clinical feature is included on both plans — DEA log, split billing, medical records, scheduling, Stripe, all 9 reports. Unlimited techs, assistants, and office staff at no extra charge. Month-to-month, cancel anytime with 30 days' notice.
For solo and small ambulatory practices
Everything in Standard, with white-glove service
How per-vet pricing works: you're billed only for veterinarian accounts. A solo vet pays for one seat; a two-vet practice pays for two. Front-desk staff, technicians, and assistants get their own individual logins at no additional cost — so every action in the system is tied to the real person who performed it, which matters for medical records and DEA logging. Pay annually and get two months free on either plan.
Add-ons (either plan): Bulk data migration from a complex source — quoted per system · SMS message bundles available · Additional training sessions $150 each.
15 minutes on the actual production system — not slides. Tell me about your practice and I'll get back to you within one business day.
